Number 8 Remembered

Number 8 Remembered

A Poem by Neville
"

An old love poem, nothing more & certainly nothing less

"

Number 8 Remembered

Dear number ten

From number eight

I used to want you madly

Almost daily do you hear me?

Even though you hurt me

With those questions

And you’re searching

I never really found you cruel

Not wanting me is up to you

You were older somewhat wiser

And anyway indefinitely

A star that will not die

A gentle finale everyone deserves but could never receive by someone other than a poet. Beautiful.

Thank you so very, very much and true... Neville
Difficult sometimes to come to topics such as this in a perhaps fresh and compassionate way. Here you have succeeded and done it well. Crisp and not at all maudlin this sets a very high benchmark. And of course an excellent tribute.

You are, as always, so very kind Ken... cheers.. Neville
So sorry to hear about your friend "P" passing. What a lovely tribute to your dear friend Neville. I am sure he would have smiled. And is doing so right now. Down at you, at this very moment in time.

Eight has always been my favorite/lucky number *sigh!* This is an interesting way to camouflage your characters. I’m reading this as code names *wink! wink!* Thanks for sharing (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

The things or people we want in our lives are sometimes lost to us for one reason or another and learning to live without someone can often be as troubling as learning to live with them. Humanity seems tinged with insanity and our ability to prevail is often hinged upon our ability to communicate within the parameters of those eccentricities. But as the old circus adage goes, "The show must go on." I hope we can all find the strength to carry on remembering the good times and forgiving the madness within others as well as within ourselves. I enjoyed the read.

A past love remembered with fondness still. When things don't work out, that doesn't mean you have to obliterate from memory all the good times. They remain and they are pleasant to reflect on from time to time. Sadly partings happen, we come to a crossroads and take different pathways. Good morning Neville.

Despite the fact that I do not understand your note, I like this poem. It expresses a love lost, but acceptance of that loss.
