Witness

I saw a bird in the sky

Flying free

Flying high

I could not tell you

What it was

But I heard it scream

And I saw it die

Then a man

With the gun in his hand

Laughed and sang a victory song

Before he turned away

I saw a child in the park

Playing free

Swinging high

I could not tell you

Who she was

But I saw her fall

And I heard her cry

Then off raced a man

With his thing in his hand

Still creepy as hell. Uggh. But conveyed beautifully, especially the parallel drawn from the first stanza to the second. This is easily one of the best I personally read from you.
