A single frozen flower... whose petals have flown too high and,
like a kite to the sky... doesn't know why. A string of kisses float down
to land on the earth where flowers grow in sunshine and rain...
where there will be no pain... truly, Pat

Powerful expression of rejection. To be at the receiving end of this type of behavior sucks. The reader is left to wonder how a relationship deteriorates to this extent. It could be for a myriad of reasons: illness, infidelity, plain boredom, lack of communication, unshared interests. I could go on and on. Your lines always throw open a cavern of possibilities Neville. Bottom line, this was painful, and relatable. You have a poem with a universal theme here as old as the hills. Many will understand the strong emotions generated. There were some lovely lines, which have me very clear imagery. I saw that single frozen flower on a mountainside. This was a very cold write and I was left feeling the chill as much as the author. See it's an old write. Good to get them out for an airing now and again.

Glad you noticed that this is an oldie.... Neville x

Likewise if mine is an old write I tend to say it is from my archives. It shouldn't really matter one way or the other though. Much of my new work can still go back to stuff which happened a long time ago. It's all poetry and really is timeless. Always good to read your work Neville. Your writing is so utterly distinctive, I could identify your style anywhere :) I am a huge fan.

I'll remember his name. Any recommendation from you is worth checking out. Thank you.
Wow, this is harsh, raw and reality it's saddest and worse. When all communication and love has basically died and you are just holding on and no more. Just waiting for the final bit to fade and you be gone. Heartbreaking and tragic. Really felt the emotions in this one. Neville.

Your words tear at the heart, but reflecting one might find such a statement refreshing. It's like ripping off the Band-Aid after fretting about the anticipated pain. Just do it, say it, and get over it. Accepting is the first part of healing, or so it seems.

There is kind of nothing I am NOT into, except I can't figure out the mess of cords and remotes around the TV. My book shelf is the weirdest collection you have ever seen - from Stephen King to Kahlil Gabran, and everything in between. Kit Williams wedged up against Anton Levey. I don't know - then again, my ipod has Feist and Marilyn Manson in the same mix. That's just me.
