Those In The MiddleA Poem by NevilleA general observation on the transience of recollectionThose in the
Middle Just look how
quickly They have
forgotten you One day my
friend They will forget
me too In the meantime
though And whilst we
might each have done our bit To aid those
variously distressed and otherwise disturbed Remember this Neither you or I
are Kennedy’s a Ghandi or Mandela Nor a Cohen, Shelley
or Keats Those uninitiated
might well argue That neither are
we a Hitler, Manson or Bin Laden But nevertheless
In no time at
all We will each be
forgotten Like a broken
and discarded cup Like those
several dozen sheets of crumpled paper Containing
hastily scribbled and disjointed words Now overflowing
onto the hearth © 2013 NevilleAuthor's Note
