On reflection

There were so many indiscretions

And infidelities

So many imperfections

Not to mention

Long lost bedroom keys

 

On reflection

There were so many misconceptions

And insecurities

So many wrong assumptions

Not to mention

Bedroom freeze

 

But hey

 

If you would dare rotate your hips tonight

Against

The rhythm and the flow of my finger tips

Tonight

Then I will make you fly again

 

Regardless of those

Indiscretions and your infidelities

Whoever has the perfect relationship? There are imperfections in them all. And then of course there are the indiscretions and infidelities which make the journey either rockier or more interesting depending on what side of the bread your butter is spread. Get found out you can suffer locked doors and bedroom freeze. Forgiveness comes to some, but not others. Your lines have forgiveness in them, a desire to rekindle the cooling embers. Now whose perspective is this written from? Your readers won't know, we can only come to our own conclusion, which may or not be correct. Forgiveness is a great kindness, but it don't come easy. It has to be earned. Great write Neville.

Funny how you put the word Tonight twice. :) I started out thinking it was the speaker who was contemplating his past errors until I got to the end when it said "your infidelities." Fingertips have a magic all their own sometimes. A good rhythm doesn't hurt either. Well done.
