Don't Let Me Die FatA Poem by NevilleDon’t Let Me Die Fat
Don’t let
me die fat Please don’t
let me die old Prove to
me you love me Then just do
as you are told
Man can
not live on poetry alone She
whispered Into the
dust jacket of Yet
another anthology
Then my
friend she proceeded To sigh Time has
not been as good to you As the
years have been for him
All those
diets and the exercise Supremely
failed To keep
you either young or thin Oh lord
don’t let me die fat, he cried
