Havana Skies

Havana Skies

A Poem by Neville
"

some things are just meant to be seen..

"

Havana Skies

Hey kids

Check out this still Havana sky

Where magnificent

Delta winged frigate birds fly so very high

Then be

Prepared to rest a while

Beside some long lost turquoise swimming pool

And marvel

As these

Sun bleached rainbow towels they dry

Tempting emerald hummingbirds

To sip from them

Hey kids

Just you listen to those eagles cry

The swallow and the swift must surely be

Both the dolphin and the porpoise of the skies

You have transported me to some wonderfully exotic location. There is some superb imagery here Neville and also a lesson for the kids. Pause and take notice of the natural environment and soak it all up. Love your final stanza. Yes the sky is another ocean :) A very welcome poem, on a dull, cold day. You brought me blue skies and heat. Now a gin and tonic would just make it ideal.

Great imagery within the text; with perfect structure and fluidity of stanzas throughout - wonderful read! It also got me reaching for my mp3 music list and listening to Camila Cabello's version of Havana - *sigh* ... nice share ... :-)

Exotic calypso like feel to this Neville. I've got to say I liked it a lot. It cheered me no end on this stormy Scottish afternoon.

Very nice storytelling in the poem. You took the reader with and you made them believe every words. I need a tropical location. Winter is here in Michigan the birds went south. Thank you Neville for sharing the amazing poetry.

all the children around the world need the freedom to play, even in the poorest and most neglected places a child is still a child, I read Your dreamy words and I think of that, I read them and I can imagine their sky.
