There are very few universal laws my friend

But if the evolutionary process was reversed

Or for arguments sake

Turned upside down

From the moment of our collective optimum potential

 

Tomorrow really would then be today

 

If such a process was then to continue unchecked

For a little more than three point six billion years

We would all be long forgotten and nothing would exist

Except some non nucleic primordial sludge

 

Now that my friend would be a head f**k indeed

I had one of these today myself. i got to thinking if the dinosaurs lived 250 million years and we only have evolved over the last million or so and the dinosaurs disappeared some 75 million years ago. Well then what if they had evolved and did. But managed in that time span to survive the purge and make it to outer space? All signs of them would long since have disappeared and we would possibly meet them again in our travels only to find their descendants weren't alien but were our closest kin . Sharing the same beginning and end.

I like the notion of things running backwards. As it is we will probably all be long forgotten the way we are going. But then maybe not as we have no idea where we are going. Perhaps if we evolve in some super way we will be able to go back through our collective past and re-experience it. Well done on shaking things up in the old thought cage department.

Nice title...caught my attention anyways. If we were left to the laws of "survival of the fittest" monkeys "not humans" would have been running this planet a long time ago.

Quite right on the first count Muse but what if re-volution took us on a journey to long after apes had been forced to quit running the planet? Lets say for arguements sake x1 billion years ago. What then? But hey, it aint gonna happen, at leat for a little while so why not just sit or lay back & enjoy the literary ride? N

Why is that a head f**k? It's more or less what I would expect to happen if I had god like powers. I would change the title and take out the "my friend" stuff.

Might I respectfully suggest that since you are not God, you read 'Head F**k' again & next time, try to bend your mental muscle around what is actually being said. You might then find you have a more accurate appreciation of what a head f**k might be.

Oh' & since I am probably twice as old as your good self & therefore probably nearer to God than thee, I will leave the 'my friend' stuff precisely where I believe it belongs.

Calling the reader "my friend" makes them feel like they are being set up for a mob hit. So are you telling me Head f**k has a double meaning, because if it does I'm too stupid to figure out what it is. If on the other hand it just means this is a really mind blowing idea, I think its heavy handed.

The moustache is fine, in fact very becoming. For the record, I am not calling anyone 'my friend' where 'my friend' is written, it is meant to form the last line or stanza of this particular poem and nothing more. Regards, N
