Welcome

Welcome

A Poem by Neville

Welcome to the most critical stage

Of your very own decay

To that certain point of beauty

That will never leave you, fade or go away

Take note then and log

Each individual crease, line, bruise, fault and tear

Though exercise some caution

And always be aware

Since those who care too much for beauty

Tend to lose themselves in mirrors

And degrade in their own inimitable way

I stand degraded ,I have today been thinking of the same, not quite,a friend , a platter,a horse shoe putter on type guy, in my mind he is much older then me,I look at him he looks much older then me,in my mirror who am I? then in the obituary I read there is the two year difference, tough to get my parabola to start at the o origin,I guess I should of started at C, or spread the peanut butter on both slices before the jam is spread.O K goofy I am ,Alive.

Splendid! truly well spoken (written). Love especially that last stanza! It is humbling to look in the mirror as we age and wonder what happened, but humility is a virtue and far outshines vanity.

This poem is full of wisdom. It is very difficult wisdom, because we are so stirred by what we see, but it is wisdom that would serve us so very well if we would only allow it.

Your take on the world, human nature, the good, the bad and the charming is exceptionally clear and you have made me feel perfect as I approach my 55th year. Cheers Circe

delightfully wise words I have to say I was surprised where this poem took me, it's a subject people often encounter the superficial side of humanity vs the substance inside, I think you've made people aware of an undiminishing beauty they have within and no matter what's on the surface that part will not go away, also people should not have to be so sensitive about age etc, it's become so taboo as well like weight and sexuality, people need to talk more openly about natural things that humans have to experience as you have here.

A well thought poem on beauty and its ways... A message from a wise poet concerning the people that care only for the outer beauty not paying attention to the inner beauty ...
Keep up the awesome work dear poet...
