Loved this old one of yours. It puts the whole work career, life thing in perspective. Trying so hard and never quite measuring up. For what!? Really appreciated this one cuz perspective is the focus.

I thought this was a very odd piece at first, but a great poem makes one thinks - and this one certainly does! To me, this person ignoring their true calling by accepting a pseudo promotion onward to another flight of stairs of nothingness. May he toil in his dreariness. Great poem, looking forward to reading more of your work!

No, not one bit, satyre maybe, an observation of other folks perceptions certainly but with only 89 days to go before hanging up my prescription pad etc, I can only feel a certain sense of achievement tinged with a little apprehension maybe. N
