We The Innocent

We the innocent

The nameless

Approximately

Six million of us

Give or take a few

Hundred thousand

No longer fear you

Do you hear us

Ignorant creator of

So many saints

Master of the oven

Collector of hair

Give or take a few hundred thousand says so much Neville. I can just hear the defensive arguments "we were a little busy at the time to keep our books up to date. Is that a crime?"
I like to believe I believe in karma, but that same line could be used as her excuse too. I hope she managed to catch up to them all in time though.
And apologies for sticking to that line, it just echoed loudly in my head.
Brilliant.

This brought me to full attention and I read it many times over. Angry--not much hope but who could have hope, meditating on the six million? You have done service in remembering them, dear friend.

Many thanks Kat. All Good Things, N
wow what a potent write, this shall be timeless and holds so much power, emotional & compelling, your voice is unrelenting here, I was mesmerised and could not look away from the picture you've painted, master of the oven, it's just so jarring and very much necessary, this piece also represents a stand for all the battles on the side of human rights.

Wow, that really has impact. It makes me think of the images of not only what you've mentioned but also what you haven't: the boxcars, the glasses, the shoes. I like the defiant tone of the poem too. Very well done.

Powerful reminder of a shameful time in history written in a straightforward way making it that more poignant. ' collector of hair' epitamises the evil but the defiance in the lines 'no longer fear you' gives us hope.

I don't know what to say, but thank you, N
Nev, this has captured a sentiment of history and described the of the abhorrence millions who despise and detest anything about Adolph Hitler and his craft.
