We The Innocent

We The Innocent

A Poem by Neville
"

something else never to forget, maybe .....

"

We The Innocent

We the innocent

The nameless

Approximately

Six million of us

Give or take a few

Hundred thousand

No longer fear you

Do you hear us

Ignorant creator of

So many saints

Master of the oven

Collector of hair

Give or take a few hundred thousand says so much Neville. I can just hear the defensive arguments "we were a little busy at the time to keep our books up to date. Is that a crime?"
I like to believe I believe in karma, but that same line could be used as her excuse too. I hope she managed to catch up to them all in time though.
And apologies for sticking to that line, it just echoed loudly in my head.
Brilliant.

Is this about Hitler? Six million killed....the Holocaust must never be forgotten. We are stronger now....but I think we still fear the thought of him. I know I do. My mom was a Holocaust survivor...the stories she and her family told are with me forever. Powerful poetry. Lydi**

Thank you ever so much my friend.. Neville
Have visted two Holocaust museums, one in Jerusalem - Yad Vasham; the other in Compiegne. Saw not only women but men sob and tremble, heads shaking side to side because of what they were looking at, reading, They were obviously shocked by an exposure of undeniable evil. In Compiegne, an elderly gentlemen was so horrified he was sick. A while later, that wonderful man - face grey, eyes swollen and red, insisted on continuing his visit. Determined, no matter. Will never, never forget that happening, nor what i saw. How I felt, still feel.

Your words stike so many chords, are laid simply, starkly, emotionally. They're far more than a poem

Ah the son of morning, the bringer of light, the fallen one. What a poem looking at just that aspect but it is far more on so many levels.

How can anyone involved ever greet a new day with a conscience that would allow them to move on. These exterminations, and many others like it are a cancer on history and when their are those who deny that it happened, it makes me sad for the human race. Writing like this will never let us forget. Great job Neville!!!

I cannot understand or condone those who deny sUch a truth. For me. Such an attitude is on a par with the evil actually perpetrated. . Beccy.

There are some whose ignorance exceeds all boundaries. Some who would have you believe that this never happened. To the six million who perished, you will not be forgotten. As long as there are people like you Neville, who will not allow that to happen.
