What Do I Want From You

What Do I Want From You

A Poem by Neville

What do I want from you

Now you are gone away

I want to chase that mint

Around your mouth

With my tongue again

I want to trace my name

On your shoulder blade

With my thumb again

I want to probe and peek

Play hide and seek and to

Locate that long lost crumb again

These are but a few of the things

I want from you

Now you are gone away

'What Do I Want From You'
Neville,
I think you had fun with this one. It shows the memory and it's life. The things, experiences that stick out in our souls when that time is gone. Relationships can be complicated of course but this writing gives permission to simply enjoy the little things which are not so small after all.
Blessings as always!

Many sincere thank you's dear Fay............. N :)
You are by far one of the best people I have ever not met Mr. Nev and if I did meet you we would be instant friends! but I would not share my mint with you I would draw the line at that! you have already written your name on me in indelible ink however so we could skip that step:) seriously tho this is simply beautiful writing my friend

I like how you don't tiptoe around the longing of a person who obviously made a massive impression on your soul. It's the little things in life. Clever writing that put a grin on my face. Great work Neville. Hope you're well.

Well worth a second visit. Little things can have the greatest impact. You know I can taste the tingle of that mint in those sweet kisses. How they must be missed.

Many times we know the worth of love at goodbyes and when it's gone, it's the moment of "wake up", still I pray here for a second chance, and my belief, true love will always find its chance even when the two parted and go their separated ways, sometimes it's needed so they can grow as individuals, and when it's the right time for them to rejoin, they definitely will.

Ah, the lingering traces of all that was good about what no longer is. I know this feeling all too well. Regrets, I've had a few... :)

How could anyone possibly argue with that.. a fact and so eloquently stated.. thank you my friend..
Makes me wonder...these are but a few...what are the rest?
That mint-chasing bit sounds like great fun.
A very good poem, I think--but it makes me sad, that she went away, and I find myself wondering; if the one this was written to were to write a poem of her own, what would she say, about why she chanced to go away. Must've been jealous of Margie...that's it, right?
All that frolickin' in the woods, and her, no doubt, naked, as usual!

surely, you know a gentleman never tells...bless ya our angel...
I love this. When someone goes but it's not under the worst of circumstances, the longing is a palpable thing. A living, breathing creature that stalks our thoughts.
