Beautiful poem Neville capturing that peaceful place where you retreat to. This is also a tribute to Nikolai and his labour, building that dry stone wall with such skill. Skills past on to him from generations before. That wall will be there for years and years to come. Now that is surely something to ponder on. Long after we have gone Nikolai's wall will still stand proud.

'Tserevo Koria'
Neville,
Taking in the descriptive piece above with words and the sunflower
brightness helped me to understand a little your sweet little story.
It seems Slavic somehow with the bright sun and the stone wall with
a roof in background. Nicolai could be Russian or some such. The feeling
of an open air place of beauty and a place to dream and relax is threaded throughout.
It ended in a comforting way too:
'To protect those of us he loved
and lived within that perfect
Mountain harbor
We now call Tserevo Koria.
It sure sounds like a lovely place!
Blessings,
Kathy

Stone walls, stone houses, stone 'barns. Different one for you Neville. I enjoyed.

A story poem that is very visual. I almost see the poet in his life away The story of a writer feeling more at home away from home perhaps. At least I get that from it.
Ah I think I know who it is now. Now it fits for me. Excellent.

how very true.....and thank you so much for considering these words Kelly....
You are making me feel immensely homesick for the place, that is so far away. And for the love of people who make you feel safe and secure with their care.

The reminiscing here is filled with admiration and love. Such a place is what we all need in our lives. A place we can remember and smile. A place that made us feel we belonged right there...and no where else. So very lovely, Neville. Lydi**

That's beautiful, truly beautiful. Reads like a place ruled by a man who knows his own destiny. Even in the UK the sight of dry stone walls mean an eternity built by a caring man... and in your world, tis the same.. your Nikolai is more than special - he cares, he truly cares. Heaven on earth described with great care.
Thank you so very much emmajoy it is indeed a very special place.....Neville..

For some reason I thought it was a small place in the middle of nowhere. The unusual name led me to 'Images'where are some very lovely and special places to visit.. lucky, lucky you. this was beautifully captivating, it's fascinating that you found the poeticism in the task of placing stones with such precision, it kind of says that you felt the place to be just right, with all its history and how well people knew it, the locals are true locals with all their knowledge and culture, it's a magical place where you can just take your time to enjoy the coffee and contemplate all the peace and beauty around you and be able to live deep in those moments.

There are no shops, pubs, post offices, or any other signs of civilisation for 2 milea any side. This includes no grafeitti, light polluntion or muggings. Are we lucky, sensible, or what?
Please excuse if this response is uninteligible, I have just dropped my daughter back at university & built x6 flat packs as part of the bargain. All Good Things for now, I will be in touch. N
