Fall

Fall

A Poem by Dan
"

Seasons change, so do we with age...

"

Fall

Red leaves leave the trees,

Cue the seasonal strip tease,

Summer takes a lazy bow,

Now Winter's on the way.

Chill morns, russet dawns,

Bushes stripped of all but thorns,

Darkness takes an age to

Turn the page and greet the day.

Fall

Fall

Falling...

This is an exquisitely written piece of poetry. It strikes a chord with me, since winter is always the beginning of the rule of darkness. I cannot agree with people who say they love the winter - have they ever lived in England..?
"Chill morns, russet dawns,
Bushes stripped of all but thorns,
Darkness takes an age to
Turn the page and greet the day."

..I admire this stanza above all as it is so very incisive and skilfully arranged. The rhyme scheme in this poem is first class.
And one of these lines symbolises the pain of winter to me, very simply and profoundly:- "Bushes stripped of all but thorns.."

I like this, it is very well written.
Flows so naturally down the page.
I like how you ended this.
