Unseen sorrow

Unseen sorrow

A Poem by NeverSurrender

She may not share it
With the rest of the world
Though bit by bit
She breaks inside

She doesn’t want our pity
She thinks her problems are small
And that such a big city
Has no time for small problems

Just ‘cause we don’t see
Doesn’t mean it’s not there
She wants to be free
Just like everyone else

Troubles in her head
Behind a smiley face
Are we all so blind?
Can’t we see she needs help?

When she cries it’s not fake
No matter what she says
Won’t be long till she’ll break
And what’ll we say then?

What’ll we say when it’s too late?
That we didn’t see
Or it was just fate
Excuses for her death

Let’s pay attention to her life
Make sure she’s alright
And won’t grab to the knife
Let’s see her unseen sorrow

This is a great poem, I'm hoping it wasn't real and if it is I hope it didn't come true. I like the flow to it and the message. We should all take part in recognizing someone's sorrow even if they don't tell us directly. Thanks for sharing such a deep poem.

This is a great call for a more empathic, caring and ethical society. So many of us overlook everyone around us while we're trying to get rich and famous, meet deadlines, or whatever other selfish desires we can conjure up in our stress. 'I wouldn't do it for you, cos you wouldn't do it for me'. Tips? More!, Take care and never surrender, spence
