A Poem by John Davidson

You fight
They fight
We all fight
So why at first light
Do We feel not as bright?
Stay up all night
Engulfed by fright
A look of despair
As we pull out our hair
Flip over a chair
Screaming about how life is fair
Why can we fight all day?
But when night comes,
that fight goes away?
How can happiness turn to disarray
With on blink of an eye?
You fight.
They fight.
We all fight.
So why do we feel so alone?
Why are we uneasy at home?
Emptiness rattles every bone
Depression controls every thought
Anxiety dehydrates us like drought
Barely functioning like a broken robot
You fight
They fight
We all fight
Keep carrying on
Even when the days seem long
Remember that you belong
Never give up, Be strong.
