Breathe

Breathe

A Poem by John Davidson

Music is playing,
But I hear nothing.
The car vibrates,
But I feel nothing.
Eyes wide open,
But I only see darkness.
Void of my senses
Along this early morning drive.
One last breath,
Hold it in.
I turned the steering wheel,
And stepped on the gas.
My world goes white,
Memories flash and fade.
I close my eyes,
And exhale.
One last breath,
Before my world fades to
Black.
