My heart darkens

Softly it beats

Fading into nothingness

My heart is in pain

Oh, look at what you've done to it

The bruises and scrapes fade and heal

But not on my heart

They scar and peel

Never being what it once was

Betrayal shades it from light

Attaching its self

becoming an aura of regrets and mistakes

my history never failing to resurface

how many times will I let it happen

before i become a cold hard shell
