One-Way Road

One-Way Road

A Poem by Sunset Girl

I’ve learned my place

We’ve taught me well

Of when it’s time

And when it’s not

Of when we travel together

And travel apart

I’m not sure when

The two-way road

Became a one-way

I’m not sure when

I started doing the traveling

With you

Only inspecting at major points.

When did this road change

How did I not see it

See the road in front of me changing

Being torn apart before my eyes

But when I think back

This road has had

One-way parts before

And somehow

It always becomes a two-way road again

At some major inspection

When things are changed

When you see my travels

Understand my path

And you need me

Again

:: wow... i think this has to be one of my favourite pieces written by you... there's such depth and such intensity in your words and such insight too that i'm overwhelmed... :: the equation that two human beings share goes through many phases... and sometimes i feel it reaches a peaceful place only when one of them doesn't give up... until that peaceful place is reached... despite all the chaos along the way... despite all the obstacles and all the problems... :: if i really want to be in that peaceful zone with someone, i just don't give up...

Writing can help one express what they can't seem to explain verbally. My poems are mostly about life, love and relationships. I started writing more when I thought people just wouldn't understand me.. more..
