Holding Me

I felt it
That night
When I couldn't sleep
When I wanted to cry
When I needed the comfort

I felt it
So strong
Like never before
Like someone was there
Had their arms around me
Saying "it's ok"

I felt it
Felt someone
Holding me

I thought of him
Maybe somehow
He knew
And after all this time
He thought of me
Knew I needed him

Or maybe
It was someone greater
Someone you knows
My every thought
my every need

I felt it
I felt held
Held so tight
Like they'd never
Let me go

To be held
If only for while
To put me to sleep
To know it's ok
To feel that comfort
Even
If only a sense
of it
