One Way Only

We all need to be allowed to change and grow...it's healthy

So many people I know think one way

They want me to think that way too

But sometimes I don’t want to

But I don’t say what I think

 

Some people think I should act one way

If I don’t they ask what’s wrong

They don’t think I will ever change

But I will and have

 

Some people think I can only talk one way

When I say something different

They act all surprised

Even though I’ve said it before

 

But then there are those who don’t care

What I think or what I say or do

Those are my real friends

The ones who let me change and grow

. i agree with your perspective ... i also think that sometimes we surround ourselves with people who continuously comment on our existence and how we're evolving ... over time, we simply don't hobnob with such people as we cease to be about people ... and become about ourselves ... what i mean is that i'm sure you have more real friends now than you did back then ... and less unreal friends now than you did back them ...
