To be Lucky is to be Happy, so Smile

Who defines 'happy'? Well, according to the dictionary, the word 'happy' literally means 'lucky'. Happy doesn't exactly meant that, "Oh, I have to smile every second of every day" or "My life sucks at this particular moment in time, so I'm not happy." It translates into 'lucky'. I am 100% lucky. Typically, people focus and allow their happiness to be dictated by other people. It is said that you have a choice about who hurts you in this life, however be aware that your worst enemy is you, and with that, you control your happiness. 

I could focus on the fact that my father was never around and I haven't seen him in years or I can be HAPPY that I am LUCKY enough to have a mother who is my biggest supporter. As humans we possess a superabundance of energy that just desperately craves to explode. We reject 'normal' and become frustrated with adversity and trial, with no outlet and no audience.

Do I smile every second of every day? Not at all. Is every day going to be the best day ever? No; that's life. In the end though, the 24 hours in a day will expire and start anew. The bad will vanish, leaving a sunny sky and a new sense of optimism. I am so unbelievably lucky, and with that, I am happy all the same.

THis is good advice, and I wish we could all take it. I go over my days wth a mental marking pin. Did something good happen? There's a plus. Something bad? A minus. Some of the marks are bigger than others, depending on just how good or how bad. Usually the days balance out.
