Who We Are

A Poem by Vanessa

Sometimes there isn't much we can do about what happens in our life.
We can't always have things perfect.
Lives are made and sometimes they are taken.
So many people die each day and there isn't anything to do about it.
People kill other people in this world and sometimes there is no justice.
What we do here in the world is just ridiculous.
We've harmed each other and we just keep doing it.
We may think that animals are violent but we're worse.
We kill each other and we even kill other living things.
We have ruined what this world has to offer and we are just making matters worse.
During our lifetime we make so many mistakes and we can never fix them.
We will always regret a few things that we do because that is what is meant to be.
We struggle through the days not knowing what we will do to ourselves but knowing it won't always be good.
I don't think many people want to think of themselves in this way,
but we have to live with who we are!
