new beginning.

new beginning.

A Poem by Vanessa

lightning strikes,

light flashes in my eyes for a moment.

thunder rumbles,

my ears get a taste of anger.

as rain kisses my skin,

i wonder how many tears i've ever shed.

soaked in guilt, pain, and regret;

i will change these clothes for the one i love.

grey goes to white,

the sun breaks through.

i'm ready for this new beginning,

this new beginning with you.

I like this. I really do.

Such a powerful blend of the wildness of the world in storm and the metaphor of a life in storm, as well. And I love the imagery of changing the rain soaked clothes for new ones in order to start fresh with love and life. Perfect!
