Sleep of the ShowerA Poem by Ness of LoveCan there really be a description for this? The days don’t seem to be getting any better, And they just keep on getting worse, ‘Why do I continue to live?’ That is the question that she can never answer. She puts her head against the wall, Leaning it up to look at the falling water, Seeing how free the droplets look, ‘God, how I want to be free like it.’ As she thinks about her life, Sitting on the shower floor, She figures out a solution; Sleep. She could fall into a slumber to either; Never waking up, (Which will mostly happen,) Waking up to the parents frantically banging the door to see if she is okay, (Which she prays with all her might that that would happen,) Or to wake up the next day, neither dead nor cared about, (She dreads this one the most). She finally shuts her eyes, Her tense muscles relax, And she dozes off, Only to wake up with her final conclusion; ‘I am to neither live nor die, but to suffer.’
