Forgetting

Forgetting

A Poem by Nathaniel Taylor
"

Something about heartbreak. Feel free to comment.

"
The first three hours of every day, I forget about you.
I forget you existed and that we had something together.
But then, somehow, I see or smell or hear something that reminds me of you.
And that's when the sun seems less bright, my heart heavy and the day too long.
Every third hour of every day, I wish I'd never cared.
I long to love again, yet the pain of losing that too seems damn near unbearable.
And then I see a couple kiss, or a friend having fun with their partner.
For that split second, love seems worth while again.
The last three hours of every day, I'm happy we split up.
I feel happy about myself and at peace with what has happened in the past.
But then sleep takes me to a land where other things surface.
Some better, some worse.
The first three hours of every day, I wish they'd last longer.

Beautiful piece, raw in emotion. I liked this poem.

I like it. We all feel this way about an ex beau of ours at times. Espeicially if we;'s just broke up with them.
