Leaving

written in the spirit of loving one that no longer loved me

Thoughts of what was hold me

an embrace of pain and regret

where the hands of many wait

the words of none are remembered

a loneliness strikes and yet remains

all look but may not see

 

I feel as if I lay here broken

a fragmented image of the past

every thought of the future

for none of the present will last

In me lies what might have been

truth due to pain's left unspoken
