Enjoy the Surface

Enjoy the Surface

A Poem by Nathaniel Taylor
"

A scream toward superficiality

"

The parts of something greater each moving on their own
Create unity where individuality is expected to thrive
But does unity truly exist where one perceives it?

Or is there an underlying chaos lurking, waiting to erupt?
One would only find the answers looking underneath the surface
Yet no-one ever does, expecting that what they see is truth.

It is to those people I write this small part of myself
It is to the greater whole that I show my true colors
And I shed unity to reveal the chaos within each small part.
To many, I am the one who no person notices
Yet I have seen and heard the most of us all.

Do you believe me?
Or do you feel that someone like this cannot exist near you?

The challenge is not belief nor perception, the challenge is possibility
And where it ends in a world where truth is just another way to hurt.
You have been challenged to see beyond your own perception.

But until you accept my challenge, enjoy the surface.
