The Joining

The Joining

A Poem by Jamie Charbonneau
"

A Re-Add from before the great Writer's Cafe wipe.

"

swirling up
drifting clouds of incense fog my mind
the drums
beating my heart’s rhythm
beating the earth’s rhythm

it rolls through me
this smoke
this power
this raw energy

breath, pulse,
quickening
lips parted in expectation
hips moving with the eddies
and
currents

sensual
this ancient magic
the allure of the unknown
of the sacred
of the forbidden
