Four walls

Four walls

A Poem by Shane William
"

Written about...5 years ago. I lost it with many others from a notebook that got away from me somehow. I recently found the rough draft scribbled on some old homework.

"

These four walls
moving in closer
accented by a ceiling
maybe a window
for feeling
a reflection
or rejection
of the remote world
only seen
not entered

I strum sad and
simple chords
drinking sunlight
contemplating
life's rewrite
the passions gone
yet the words arrive
I convinced myself
I don't care
These illusionary
four wheels
get me nowhere
persuading a
moving scenery
to amuse me
only to
suffuse me
with despondency

These four walls
quietly moving
freely to inch in
amongst glowing tvs
ringing telephones
and space envy
conversations
Soon to shed their paint
grow old and die
