The Fight.

The Fight.

A Poem by Kati
"

She wasn't nothing, she was worth something.

"
She steps forward,
a grim confidence runs through her veins.
She knows she can do this;
but to succeed is to loose.

She smiles,
to put on a show.
Her fist flies through the air,
her opponent's eyes wide in surprise.

She laughs,
insanity spurring from her lips.
No one thought she could do this,
no one thought she could win.

She tilts her head,
a mocking smile on her face.
She knows the price,
she knows the pain,
she knows what will happen,
and yet,
what she has to gain.

She throws her body forward,
putting all her power into the fight.
To loose is to die,
to win is to loose.

She breathes slowly,
an air of confidence surrounding her.
No matter what she'd prove them wrong,
she'd prove she could win.

She grits her teeth,
remembering the reason why.
Her family, her friends,
all for whom she cared.
For them she did this,
for them she dared.

She flinches,
receiving a blow.
No victory goes unmarked,
no win without hate.

She narrows her eyes,
and concentrates on the fight.
They told her she was worthless,
and it was them that she sought.

She gasps,
and collapses.
She's won.
She knew she would.
She believed in herself.
But no victory is without a price.

She blinks,
taking in the dark.
In order to prove herself,
she was locked in the night,
alone.

She calls out,
willing someone to answer.
No-one cares.
No-one dared.
She was alone,
her success pulling her down.

She sighs,
and looks down.
Go back,
admit her wrong doing,
or stay here where she was confident.
Every win has pain,
but take it.
Take it and be grateful.

She wipes a tear from her face,
and she stands tall.
She made it,
she won.
She wasn't nothing,
she was worth something.
Even though there will be a little pain,
she knew she could stand it,
just like she was standing now.
Through all the injuries,
and through all the tears;

She grins wide,
happy for her success.
Her fret wasn't worth it,
and neither are they.
If they don't believe in her,
than why should she care?

She was smiling in her first success.
