FacadeA Poem by KatiWho would have guessed what was going on behind her mask?Bubbly, that's what they'd call her. Always full of joy. Smiley, that's who she is. Warmth radiating from her grin. Friendly, Always looking for a friend. She's always there to help, but yet I've never seen her ask for anything- nothing in return. Bravely; That's how she smiles. To be able to hide away all the suffering she's seen. To be able to lock away, every single silent scream. Carefully, she does everything. Thinking about every word, smile, or motion. Secretly, she cries. Not daring to let us see. She doesn't want to show weakness, not in front of me. Caringly she waits. Holding all the weights. Her friends, her family, everyone she meets. We pile all our burdens, carelessly on her. Daringly, She nods. Repeating the same line. Endearingly She lies, thinking about our eyes. "I'm fine, Really. Don't worry about me." Through all her efforts we stare, thinking there is something off. Little do we know, Miss Sunshine died inside; no one was even there to care.
