My Heart's Butterfly

My Heart's Butterfly

A Poem by Kitsune-

My heart is a black-and-white butterfly

Longing to be unsheathed

To spread its wings

And take in life

Is its only dream

But until then

It's bound in darkness

Waiting to be seen

To take in light

To feel its warmth

And fufill its only dream

ahh, yes finally someone young who I can relate to...

very emotional... simple but in a just a few lines a lot can be said and felt... the butterfly is a great metaphor...

I understand what you mean about writing 'depressing' things with out actually being depressed... I say cynicism does NOT equal depression...
I believe it shows just how aware you are of your feelings, and you are a very good writer indeed...
:) keep it up...

Very nice! I like the image of a butterfly, waiting to come out into the sun. Dark and yet not really. Great poem!
