“Sammy! Sammy, where are you going?” Suki cried after her friend.
“My dad says he doesn’t like the area we are in. He’s moving us to another part of Valnesse.” The young boy said casually. He didn’t really care, he didn’t have any emotional ties to this neighborhood. Suki on the other hand had begun to cry. She chased after her friend.
“Please,” She screamed, “Don’t leave! You just can’t!!” She pulled on the boy’s arm, trying to stall his leaving.
Sam shook the young girl off. “Get off!” He scorned. At twelve years old, he was three years older than Suki, and much more mature. He was too old for little girls who had a crush on him. “Jesus, you’re annoying! Get over it, you have other friends.”
She awoke in her mother’s bed, to the sound of a woman crying quietly. Suki had not hung herself properly and had only passed out from lack of oxygen. Before she could die, her father had found her while looking for a hammer. Suki was ashamed. She couldn’t do anything right. She couldn’t even kill herself...

But she didn’t. He was the only person she liked to talk to. He was the only person she felt like she could trust. His coolness about the whole thing hurt Suki more than she had ever been hurt. She had opened up to Sam and he had let her down. He swore to her he was different than the other people. She told him about her problems; her split personalities and her separation anxiety. He promised he would help.
Tears streaming down her face, Suki ran into the garage. “He’s the last one that will ever be able to ruin my life. No one can ruin what I don’t have!” She thought. With a stool, rope and the pipes that ran along the roof, Suki hung herself. She awoke in her mother’s bed, to the sound of a woman crying quietly.
