there is an underlying sadness to this poem, which makes my heart ache. however, your optimism is very evident. someday i'll be happy, that is what we all have to believe.
i really liked these lines: 'One day, I'll have a man who acts like a swimmer. / That man will save me from drowning.' it works as a great metaphor for what this whole poem is about.
i hope the day you become happy is soon. whether that's because you found a friend, a partner, or because you are happy with yourself.
