silent Prayers

Ever felt so weak that you dropped to your knees and tried reaching for hope? Then,this poem is for.Never lose hope.

Palms on chest 

Heart in hand 

praying for a better day 

Warm palms thaw

A frozen heart 

praying for the pain 

to go away 

Clutched hands 

on forehead 

soul within fingertips 

Praying for a brighter ray 

Whispering words 

kiss the air 

Praying for a calmer day 

Abandoned prayers linger 

in the icy air 

praying for someone to care

Very nice emotional poem. You know when a poem is good if it can evoke in you a certain emotion. You might want to add a period at the end though (the only punctuation you need here, I think.) It's a great poem overall because I'm sure a lot of people can relate. Thumbs up*

"Warm palms thaw a frozen heart"... as soon as i read this line, i became completely captivated. Such a beautifully fluid line, so simply, but so... urg i loved it!! The entire piece to me was absolutely wonderful. A beautiful write! xx

I'm just slightly confused. Abandoned prayers? Wouldn't that mean losing hope?

Well yes that is true.In this poem,at the time of the prayer hope is lost and prayers can be seen as "abandoned".However this poem intends to describe a time when hope is lost and saying a prayer is used as an attempt to gain it back ,which follows on to the next line "praying for someone to care" This signifies that having someone that cares or hears the prayer could return hope.Overall its is a poem and depending on the reader the meaning of it can be interpreted differently.

A really good write.. I like the concept and optimism in this one... I loved the last stanza -
