I hate the term yolo, "You only live once" does not apply to partying and smoking weed and getting drunk- only living once should apply to the thousands of people in the military who risk their lives every day, they're the only ones who should be truly saying "yolo" So, I've got an idea- lets take everyone who's every used "yolo" frequently, and give them a rifle they don't know how to use- and put them on the front lines with people shooting at them. Lets see how many people use the term "yolo" after that. Alright?
First time I heard of this "YOLO" garbage, was from my ex, who has become quite...conformative. I can definitely agree with you, however nothing has changed in our history and just over all daily lives as human beings. There are always idiots, there are always intellectuals, and a clash between the two, all the while both really view each party as being idiotic, so all in all we're just a big festering cliche, so no point in worrying about it, YOLO, eh? lol
The same thing I wouldve said to my classmates too. yeah, some poeple that go on crack or do drugs or just inhale gasoline say that kind of nonsense, it kinda annoys me too, but what really pissed me off is when drunk people say that and just immediantly kill themselve like they dont give a flip.
100/100
I never heard the term yolo till I read this. Interesting. I agree with your opinion about how to live life if one is all you get--it's a crime to waste it. Kind of aside from the point, but this reminded me of what Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, once stated in the prologue of one of his novels:
"You only live twice. Once when you're born, and once when you look Death in the face."
(I just always thought that was a cool saying)
Absolutely I agree with this piece. Why would someone use the mantra "you only live once" and then proceed to waste themselves? If 'YOLO', then you should use that one life to the best of your abilities, to better the world.
