Mirror

Mirror

A Poem by Neha Sharma

I spoke to you last night,
Of things that make you go quiet,
And ravish you with delight,
The fears and misgivings that make you want to hide,
The mysteries that keep you up all night,
The raging fire of untapped emotions that you wish to ignite.

I listen to you, as you summarize,
Your life and its lows and highs,
Knowing that a peculiar kind of beauty lies in every crack and crevice,
Following every word that you beautifully verbalize,
About your dreams, which are waiting to be actualized.

You shared, how mirrors scare you!
Reflecting your wasting worth, every time you view,
I sit there quietly, wondering how it's so wrong and untrue,
Thinking all you need is a "change of view,"
Until you ask me to be your mirror, through and through!
