The Mortal Disparity

The Mortal Disparity

A Poem by Neha Sharma

You will be crushed,

You will be tethered,

You will be battered,

leaving you shattered…

You will be ridiculed,

You will be fooled,

You will be bruised,

You will be scarred.

The incessant strikes and blows

will bequeath you ajar…

Yet, you will choose to stay strong;

Stand tall,

and learn from your each fall,

Once you were vulnerable,

Now the Great China Wall.

Condescended, accused, and marred

by the fellow unscrupulous subhumans,

Being anti-belligerent and magnanimous is

what will let you still stay human.
