It Was What it WasA Story by Neha
A sense of belonging. The one place she should be. No place she had ever been to, had felt as exhilarating as this one. It felt as if nothing before had mattered, the boys we'd cry over, the people we'd disliked, none of it meant anything. It was minuscule in the making of the real world.
She despised seeing the same people everyday for the past nine years, living the same routine. She was hardly living, more surviving. She was in her own meaningless bubble and had only just realised how desperately she needed to escape from it. She couldn't help being sad as she was not in fact the one who'd get to stay. She was an outsider to all of the others but wanted nothing more than to be there. A fresh start. New people. The pretentiousness and fakeness she had seen everywhere else did not exist. It was what it was.
