The End

The End

A Poem by SelenaShepard
"

The soul can only take so much heartbreak before it loses its innocence and is transformed into something else. What that may be, no one knows.

"

My tears can't extinguish the fire within

I give in and watch as it burns out of control.

I can see you sinister smile reflecting off the dancing flames,

ripping me apart piece by piece

slowly.

Your gaze causes

the flames to roar in hunger

turning the rest of what I used to be into          a s h.

Still the flames lick at my lungs

swallowing the oxygen inside

My knees shatter as I fall,

hands grasping my closed throat.

If you've any dignity

end it.

Now.
