Crippled.A Poem by Nefertiti Virtudes AhmesA look into a moment after something deep and intense.Soft echoing laughter. Timid pitter patter of footsteps. Ominous. Rough fingernails jaggedly clawing down cheeks. Hot tears hung like a caressing tender kiss in eyelashes. Blood slowly seeped out of a spider web gash on a temple. Jaw rapidly grinding and clenching. Wide eyes showed innocence through clear blues. Pupils distant. Cold and unnerving. Pupils haunted, tortured and broken. Unnoticeable to an unseeing eye. Is this what it’s like to be stuck in a crippled mind? © 2021 Nefertiti Virtudes AhmesFeatured Review
