For your ears onlyA Poem by Ethereal
Two stars across the universe
We were not meant to burst Not split-aparts nor art, Not opposite ends of a color chart But here we met while walking on blue light The only place then that shone so bright I cut my eyes out and you did too For we only had ears to see the color blue A second, a minute, a day I spent my life away With time and with smiles, And longing you'd come back for a while It was not much; Just the sound of your voice and a soft touch My ears played the years over the calm ocean The tide growing of devotion A voice, never a face I wish there could have been a place, To finally see that smile with my eyes And laugh with those clear blue skies They say you fall when you least expect They were not incorrect; But it was truly a wave of ocean blue that overtook my breath, And brought me to my death The fault may have been mine, Everything blurs to gray sometimes But I'll love you until the very end, Until we're both just stars again © 2016 Ethereal |
