Avow

A Poem by Wicked Verse
"

Inspired by a moment of weakness and insecurity. A prayer. Constructive feedback is greatly appreciated.

"

Profoundly fragmented, I come to you. My subconscious is in disarray.

Burdened by a yearning teetering on dangerous recklessness.

Silence has become unattainable. Attempts at suppresion have come undone.

Thus, I seek you in confidence.

I do not seek to justify my sins. Nor, do I aspire to attain moral approval. Nevertheless, conflicts graduate in complexity.

I’ve judged myself raw.

I’ve walked hand-in-hand with good fortune… Unaware The Fates have veered my spool against my character.

I’ve fallen spellbound to a sorcerer’s allure… Loyalty and wisdom are not suffice to deliver me from his seduction…

Salvation is beyond my reach.

There is no ill that lasts forever, nor soul that can bear it. My clamour surges from a feverish craving. The wavelenghts have grown turbulent.

I seek you in crisis.

I can relate to this; struggles and emotions that peak and are complex. We can't do it alone, so we seek out a good friend or a higher being for help. I like how at the end the reader feels like it will be okay with your words 'there is no ill that lasts forever.." So true!
