Believe It or Not, You're EscapableA Poem by The Lovely Sound Of CrashingA metaphoric poem about society.
She's on a sky high,
Like a mushroom cloud, From a bomb being dropped On everyone else. This is all a lie, An illusion that we accept, Kill what she made... Can I shake it off and "live"? Do you prefer it when I scream? Do you not want me to see through the scheme? Will you sell me another idea, And if I pay for you, Will it save us self-esteem? You want us to share a political dream? I think I'd rather have mine lucid- Everything I do for you makes me feel empty, But denying you makes me feel useless... I'm pulling the thread, To expose the truth, I want you naked and bare. Yes bare it all! Show me what you're really like; When all that make-up is stripped away. When your hair isn't fixed from your morning WAKE UP, Of such ROUGH screwing! [Me/You On Top] When you get angry at me for talking about a break up! But I can't leave. I'm a slave, And you are my mistress. But rest assured, I'll be going one way- Or another... (But not before leaving you with a BANG!) © 2009 The Lovely Sound Of Crashing |
