In Dreams, Until I Wake (Age 16)
A Poem by Andy Hackett
Written about a girl I was once in love with.

I am at peace
When she is there.
When she goes,
I no longer care
For any woes
That never cease,
That people take.
She's so real,
And still I dream,
But what I feel
Does never seem
To be fake.
For her sake
I would kneel.
For her cause
I would steal.
And am at peace
In her wake.
When not there,
I wait for her
And say her name.
I do not stir,
My love the same,
Until I wake. |
