A Christmas EmbraceA Story by NealChristmas Flash Fiction in 100 words.A Christmas Embrace
“June, it’s such heartbreak to lose your mother on Christmas Eve. I remember her beautiful decorations and scrumptious goodies when we were growing up"she simply loved Christmas,” said June’s friend as they embraced. Little two-year old Jane peered up to her teary eyed mother. June gazed at her own mother in the casket before kneeling down to hug her child. “Mommy, don’t cry,” Jane said holding a gleaming dime. “I get this to make you feel better.” “Hmmm, hmm, honey, an angel’s hug.” “No mommy, not from an angel. Grandma gave it to me, it is her Christmas present.” © 2014 Neal |
