The Measurement of Love

The Measurement of Love

A Poem by N_dot_AIMLESS

Listen Girl, I know that you hate it
But love is not a thing that is quantitative
It's an emotion, a feeling, not an object for boasting
Couldn't find the meaning, let me extrapolate it
You can't love one thing, or one person more than the other
You can just have love, from children to mothers
Girlfriends to lovers, Friends to enemies
True people, and false covers, love spans beyond milline and centuries
There is no, I love you more, than I've ever loved anyone before
There is just love,
What you're describing is attachment
To a feeling that you want more of
But when you rehatched it found the same dang thing
You're like the playground king
And this is child's play
If Love is a game to you, like burger king, have it my way
Just remember all the poison in your' fry tray
You can't measure love, because it vibrates
There is no metric system of romanticism
To determine which love is more powerful in vision
You can care more, or have more attachment to
But you can't love more than love and that's true
That's where me and you split like taboos
and society, your love is just a lie to me
It's like mental piracy, with so many contingencies
I'm just trying to be me
And find acceptance from the people around me
Let me break it down, I love my son
So there's nothing he could do that would break my ground
Let me break it out, yo, I Love my parents
So no matter what they say or do, I will always be there for them
Let me break it up, I love my brother
He could never make me feel a way that's any other
Let me break my back, I love my friends
And they love me back
So no matter what kind of purposeful or accidental attack
They could project, I will still love them all til death
Let me break bad, I love my enemy
He is just a mirror image that my subconscious sent to me
Let me break your' heart, I love you girl
If you gave me enough time, I would show you the world
If you sifted through my rhymes, you'd see my mind unfurled
What's mine is yours', I'm yours', and you don't even know it
Because I don't really show it, but I don't know how to show it
I'm on a tidal wave, just tryn to flow with it
So know this, take notice, there's no ulterior motives
I'm just numb from all the commotion sending ripples through my ocean
for so long,
So even if it's so long, sianara, see ya later
All that matters is we're trying harder
Because new beginning are better than bitter ends, with sour twists
And standing still, is better than guilt vacations and power trips
Maybe we are all vampires, liven lies, trying to inspire those around us
to bleed us until we die
But i'm done sucking prana from y'all, accept my karma and fall
Into the stream, that flows into the sea of everything
Love is not measured in centimeters or inches,
There is no volume, no surface areas, no megabits no syntax
No beakers with liters of love, no scales that can weigh it
No demons can slay it I say, But approach it tactfully
I don't know a thing girl
Just love, and get back to me
