MemoriesA Poem by nazia
Memories have a way of piling up..
Present becomes one in an instant. Increasing the load Hoarding themselves in the grey and white of my brain. Transporting me to wilderness in the midst of a crowd They laugh and hide when seeked out. Memories are loyal too it seems... They categorically remember all the mistakes of thine Whilst becoming clueless when the turn is mine.... Free of any corporeal existence They crawl in my mind. Like a mold they infest my attic, refusing to leave.. En-lengthening the corpus of my experience They weave and weave. As time goes by they become blurry and weak And yet through their transparent drapes I recognise the silhouette of life. Memories sure do know how to hold the fort Keeping themselves alive amidst the extinguishing flames.....
